Mumbai, September 15, 2006: Mr. C. Y. Pal, Non-Executive Independent Director of our Company has been designated as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from September 14, 2006. Board of Directors have approved his elevation vide their Circular Resolution of even date.
Mr. Pal is a distinguished professional on the Company’s Board and has over four decades of valuable experience in reputed Multinational Companies. He had joined the Board of Aptech on January 5, 2004 and is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Company. He was with Hindustan Lever Ltd. in a number of senior positions for 17 years. He has been associated with Cadbury India as its Managing Director for over 10 years and is currently their Non-Executive Chairman. Mr. Pal has been actively involved with various Industry Associations. He was the President of the prestigious Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1991/92 and was member of the Management Committee of ASSOCHAM for many years. Mr. Pal is President of the Franchising Association of India - a body affiliated to the World Franchising Council - for promotion of franchising in the country. He is also involved as a Promoter and Chairman of an Indo American Export Oriented JV company - Renfro India Pvt. Ltd. He is also a Board member of Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. and United Breweries Ltd.
With his elevation as the Vice-Chairman of the Board, the Company believes that it shall stand to immensely gain with Mr. Pal’s enriched varied experience and valuable insights that shall enable the Board to continuously function in a transparent and efficient manner.
