Mumbai:
For the quarter ending March 2008, Aptech Limited, the Global Learning Solutions Company, announced its stand-alone results. The standalone unaudited reviewed financial results were taken on record at the Board Meeting held in Mumbai.

Owing to the impending restructuring of Aptech's holding in the Chinese Joint Venture consequent to the Framework agreement, executed on 20th March 2008, which is yet to be followed up by the execution of definitive agreements, the accounts for the first quarter could not be consolidated, pending receipt of the appropriate financial information. The consolidated numbers will be materially different from the standalone numbers.

On a standalone basis, Aptech posted an increase of 18% in its revenues and 23% in operating profits compared to same quarter last year. The revenues from the retail education business increased by 27% in a quarter that is traditionally a weak quarter for this business as most students are busy in their college examinations. Aptech’s strategy of reducing its focus on low margin institutional business has resulted in a higher operating margin for the quarter.

Commenting on Aptech’s performance, Mr. Pramod Khera, CEO & MD – Aptech Ltd., said “Aptech has been able to sustain the growth it set out to achieve in its retail education businesses. Armed with new products for every segment, we are sure our Education brands viz. Aptech Computer Education, Arena Animation, Avalon Aviation Academy and N Power will continue to capture the market and post handsome growth. ”
