Aptech Limited bags computer education project from Directorate of Delhi Schools (NCR) worth Rs 88.73 crores Mumbai, November 9, 2004: SSI Education, a division of Aptech Limited, education and training major, has recently bagged an exclusive order worth Rs. 88.73 crores from the Directorate of Delhi Schools, NCR Delhi, to provide IT training in 696 schools in the National Capital Region (NCR). The Directorate imparts education in government schools and government-aided schools covering Middle, Secondary and Senior-Secondary classes. The tie-up caps a series of recent initiatives in the Govt. Institutional space further enhancing Aptech's growing stature as an education solutions provider. Under the terms of the agreement, the curriculum will as be as per the syllabus stipulated by the Directorate of Education. Aptech's responsibilities include providing over 1800 experienced and trained faculty, 700 IT assistants - taking the total headcount deployment to over 2500 and adherence to pre-determined schedules apart from providing specified class-room infrastructure. 556 sophisticated “laboratories” with state-of-the-art infrastructure, viz. machines and regular peripherals like server, printer, UPS, etc. will be set up by Aptech Limited. Some of these labs would be common for the girls and the boys schools. The Project will span 4 years, at the end of which a million students would have benefited. . G. Aptech's IT Education Initiatives in the Government Sector: Aptech bagged a prestigious order of approximately Rs 7 Crores, from the Government of Orissa to train primary and upper-primary students in over 300 schools across the State during the first phase and 150 schools in the second phase. The second phase will be implemented in the next three months on completion of the first phase. All districts in the State are proposed to be covered under this Project. Aptech has earlier been empanelled by various State Governments to provide IT Education. Till date, Aptech has trained students in Rajasthan & Punjab, provided training to Gujarat and Maharashtra Government employees, trained members of the Postal Department, Delhi, Armed Forces, Department of Social Welfare and the Karnataka Backward Classes Development Corporation. Aptech is also empanelled by the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd. (MKCL) to offer IT training throughout the state. Aptech is the preferred partner for training in several schools throughout the country. Aptech is currently involved in schools in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, in approximately 1000 schools.
